British Chambers of Commerce head's call to help UK firms go global
THE head of the British Chambers of Commerce has urged the Government and major companies to nurture Britain’s “global champions of the future” and help prevent expanding firms falling prey to foreign takeovers.
BCC director general John Longworth said the UK must overcome a structural failure in business finance and deliver a British Business Bank to develop a British Google or Samsung.
He said: “Too often UK businesses are ‘hoovered up’ by international competitors.”
