Britain's two biggest airports Heathrow and Gatwick see traffic rise
BRITAIN’S two biggest airports saw traffic increase last month.
Passenger numbers at London Heathrow rose by 7.7 per cent to just under 7 million while rival Gatwick carried 4 million passengers, a rise of 5.2 per cent.
The figures were flattered by a drop in traffic last year when many Britons stayed at home during the Olympic Games.
Heathrow said European traffic was up 8 per cent while China surged by 28 per cent.
A drop in transatlantic traffic at Gatwick was offset by growth in other long-haul routes.
