TUI Travel fuels more emissions cuts
Thomson Holidays owner TUI Travel has set new targets to cut emissions from its fleet of jets.
The world’s biggest tour operator, which owns six airlines including Thomson Airways, says it will have cut carbon dioxide by 9 per cent by the end of 2014 after already reaching its previous goal of 6 per cent cuts set in 2008.
Among the measures it is taking is switching to more efficient aircraft, installing fuel-saving devices and making changes to capacity.
The moves saved £16million in 2012.
