Weather a boost for Enterprise
SUNNY summer weather has helped Enterprise Inns, one of the UK’s biggest pub companies, post merrier sales.
The group, with around 6,000 pubs, said like-for-like net income dropped 2.7 per cent in the 18 weeks to August 3, an improvement on the 4.2 per cent dip during the previous six months.
It added that the most recent five-week period, during the heatwave, had seen income grow.
Enterprise, led by boss Ted Tuppen, said its target was to post like-for-like growth for its final quarter. Its shares rose 7¼p to 148p.
