Small businesses begin to prosper again
RETAILERS had a tough time last month but small businesses were more confident in the second quarter of 2013 than at any time in the last three years, surveys showed.
Regional cities are doing better than towns in attracting shoppers
The high street endured a one per cent fall in visitors in May, according to figures from retail research group Springboard and the British Retail Consortium.
Regional cities are doing better than towns in attracting shoppers while restaurants and cafés are helping town centres to do business after shops have shut.
Meanwhile more small firms expect turnover to increase in the next three months and more firms believe they will expand in the coming year, said the Federation of Small Businesses.
Confidence is rising across the UK.
