Chief executive Pete Redfern said customer interest, such as brochure requests, was up 15 per cent since the start of the year.
He added that there had been “further significant increases” since the launch of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
Growth was led by buoyant markets in London and the South-east.
But Redfern said mortgage lending had not shown a fundamental increase and remained a constraint on the housing market.
He told shareholders ahead of the group’s annual meeting: “We are encouraged by the recent improvement in market conditions and welcome the Government’s approach.” The shares rose 2½p to 96½p.
