Sales boost for General Motors
DEMAND from American and Chinese car drivers lifted sales at General Motors in the first three months of the year.
Sales grew by 8.2 per cent in its domestic market
The US group saw worldwide sales rise 3.6 per cent to 2.4 million vehicles, overtaking Germany’s Volkswagen and gaining ground on Japan’s Toyota.
Sales grew by 8.2 per cent in its domestic market while China rose 7 per cent, offsetting a 6.4 per cent fall in Europe.
The sale of luxury models soared as the group’s Cadillac brand enjoyed a 26 per cent increase.
