Bright Horizons buys up nursery
Nursery provider Bright Horizons yesterday paid £45million to snap up rival kidsunlimited from private equity group LDC.
They sold out in 2008 when it was bought by LDC, part of Lloyds Bank, and management.
The deal sees US-based Bright Horizons, which already runs 139 nurseries in the UK, add another 64 sites.
Kidsunlimited, which operates workplace nurseries for employers such as WH Smith, was founded in 1983 by husband and wife team Jean and Stewart Pickering at their home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
