William Sinclair hit by cold snap
PEAT and compost supplier William Sinclair blamed exceptionally cold weather for keeping green-fingered customers out of their frozen gardens.

It said the weather had delayed the start of the spring selling season by forcing gardeners to stay indoors but it hoped sunnier conditions would release “significant pent-up demand”.
Boss Peter Rush said the bad weather also hit trading at its Freeland Horticulture business by delaying deliveries of topsoil to the revamp of the London Olympics park.
