Prudential boss lands bumper payout
PRUDENTIAL boss Tidjane Thiam, who was reprimanded for failing to follow takeover rules last year, took home a bumper £7.8million payout.
Thiam was censured and the insurer fined a record £30million by the Financial Services Authority for failing to inform the regulator of a $35.5billion tilt at Asia rival AIA soon enough.
Since the deal collapsed, the stock has jumped as Thiam boosted sales and profits. The chief executive was paid £1million in salary, a £2million bonus and £4.4million in long-term incentives after hitting targets.
