Comet's fall is a good omen for Dixons
RETAILERS will again dominate this week's company announcements, as they update investors on the crucial Christmas trading period.
Dixons Retail is expected to have gained from the collapse of rival electronics chain Comet and from booming sales of tablet computers.
City analysts expect Dixons, which owns Currys and PC World, to report on Thursday that sales in Britain and Ireland have risen between 4 and 6 per cent.
