Rescue hopes fade for Comet
MORE than 50 Comet electrical goods shops are set for their final weekend of trading as hopes fade of a rescue deal for the stricken company.
They are among 125 closures already announced by administrator Deloitte, with the remaining 70 stores expected to close by Christmas unless a buyer is found.
Comet collapsed into administration last month and although a number of firms have made approaches the administrators last week said that in the absence of any firm bids they had no option but to start closing stores.
