British Airways aims to axe 400 cabin crew
BRITISH Airways is in talks with unions about plans to cut 400 senior cabin crew jobs.
It said it hoped to achieve the reductions through voluntary redundancies.
Those being offered the redundancy package are senior employees such as pursers and cabin service directors who work exclusively on either long-haul or short-haul services rather than those classed as “mixed fleet”.
It comes as parent company International Airlines Group faces industrial action at its Iberia airline in Spain over plans to axe 4,500 jobs.
