Stelios takes aim at another easyJet director
A ROW between easyJet and its largest shareholder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou flared up again yesterday after he called for the removal of another director.
He said a shareholder meeting should be called to vote on the ejection of Rigas Doganis from the board.
Sir Stelios said he had “destroyed” the company’s value by acquiring 35 Airbus aircraft for $85million (£52.7million) each in January. He said: “This is more than the company has ever paid in the past for aircraft and the directors have not identified the new routes they can be deployed on profitably.”

His move comes just weeks after he called for the removal of deputy chairman Sir David Michels, who has since left, for the same reason.

EasyJet said a meeting would be an “unnecessary and costly distraction”.
