Mall owner goes on £687m spree
HAMMERSON, the FTSE 100 property group, yesterday went on an acquisition spree.
It spent more than $1.1billion (£687million) on a string of deals after a long period rebuilding its balance sheet.
Hammerson, part owner of London’s Brent Cross complex, won the auction for Glasgow’s Silverburn shopping centre. In partnership with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board it is paying £297million.
It also bought five retail projects in France, including one of the country’s largest centre developments, in Marseilles.
