A very different Queen Vic...
IT might be called The Victoria pub.
But this drinking hole in Bristol has been named after a very different Queen Vic.
Instead of honouring the 19th century monarch - as is traditional - the woman hanging from its sign is "Chav Queen" Vicky Pollard.
The pub in St Werburghs has caused controversy by welcoming visitors with a cartoon of the Little Britain character, who famously dresses in a pink tracksuit and says 'yeah, but no but'.
Teenage deliquent Pollard takes the place of that of another Victoria - Posh Spice, which was hung there to the disbelief of locals by the previous owner in 2002.
Now owner Peter Gower-Crane says the new sign has delighted drinkers because of the local link.
He said: “The Vicky Pollard sign is more modern and up-to-date. It also has more of a local theme. The Victoria is a community pub and that’s what we are trying to get across.
“No one has said anything bad about it - people have been smiling and having a laugh, more than anything.
