Gordon forced to eat a slice of his own humble pie
CELEBRITY chef Gordon Ramsay was forced to eat a slice of humble pie today when his mother forced him to make a grovelling apology to a female TV presenter in Australia.
The foul-mouthed chef, who likened Tracy Grimshaw to a pig, went on television today to apologise after his mother gave him an earful down the telephone.
He said: “I'd just like to take this opportunity to apologise for the stupid comments and am deeply mortified that the whole thing has gone this far.
"Humble pie is something, from this day on, I will be eating every day for breakfast for the rest of my life.”
Ramsay caused outrage on Saturday when he showed a 3000-strong audience a photo of a nude woman on all fours, with multiple breasts and a pig’s face, and likened the image to presenter Grimshaw.
He was also said to have implied she is a lesbian.
Grimshaw hit back on her Monday-night programme by calling Ramsay an "arrogant narcissist" and a "bully".
She said: “We all know bullies thrive when nobody takes them on and I’m not going to let some arrogant narcissist bully me.
“Obviously Gordon thinks that any woman who doesn’t find him attractive must be gay. For the record, I don’t and I’m not.”

Grimshaw also attacked Ramsay over the way he treated his wife Tana, referring to allegations the chef had an extra-marital affair earlier this year
She added: “I’m not surprised by any of this, we’ve all seen how Gordon Ramsay treats his wife, and he supposedly loves her. We’re all just fodder to him.”
Later Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd even entered the fray, saying the chef's comments reflected a "new form of low life".
Ramsay had initially told reporters the comments were “blown out of context” before his spokeswoman apologised on his behalf last night.
While out jogging, he said: “I never once mentioned the word lesbian, and having a tongue-in-cheek joke was not at her expense.
“For me on a personal front to see how sad and how bitter for someone like that to come out - a renowned pro - to stoop that low and attack my wife is disgusting.
“It’s obvious she’s done it for ratings.”
But it took a phone call from Ramsay’s mother before he finally saw the error of his ways and apologised in person.
He said: “I’ve had my mum on the phone this morning. When your mum rings you and it’s a b******ing down the telephone, you start to get the picture.”
“She was disgusted and she wanted to know what happened.”
