Leo Varadkar is an Irish politician and former leader of the Fine Gael party. He served as Taoiseach from 2017 to 2020, and from 2022 to 2024.
He suddenly resigned his post in the first half of 2024 after he lost two referenda on amendments to the Irish constitution.
During the 2015 same-sex marriage referendum, Leo Varadkar came out as gay, becoming the first Irish Minister to do so.
