X Factor: Sinitta 'doesn't get' Simon Cowell's decision to hire Nick Grimshaw over her
SIMON COWELL'S right hand woman Sinitta has launched a scathing attack on newcomer Nick Grimshaw.
Sinitta launches attack on Nick Grimshaw
The Radio One breakfast DJ has joined the coveted panel alongside the music mogul, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Rita Ora, but 80s chart-topper Sinitta said she doesn't understand Simon's logic.
The pop star – who has been a regular fixture at judges houses – is baffled by her former boyfriend's decision to hire the popular television presenter ahead of her.
Speaking to Closer magazine, she said: "I begged Simon for a spot on the panel. I don't get his decision to choose Nick Grimshaw - he can't sing! How can he judge other singers?
"I think Simon and Nick are good mates though, so he chose him to have a pal on the panel."
While she'll inevitably make her annual appearance in a jaw-dropping outfit later in the series, the 51-year-old says she won't give up on a permanent seat alongside Simon.
She added: "I won't stop begging. My kids often bug me for things and won't stop until I give in. So that's the tactic I'm using."
Despite Sinitta's apprehensions, Nick is said to have gone down well during the early rounds of auditions.
A show insider told RadioTimes.com that the 30-year-old is bringing a David Walliams-inspired comical element to the show in avid to pick up ratings.

The source explained: "He’s good in that he’ll make jokes like Walliams does – sending up Simon but in a comical way.”
“It felt like part of the reason he’s got him,” the source added. “Obviously the David and Simon dynamic does work quite well on BGT – maybe Simon’s looking for something similar.”
X Factor auditions are resuming in London this afternoon following the funeral of Simon Cowell's mother Julie, which took place yesterday.
