Jackman continued: “That is unbelievable. I’m blown away. I’m so grateful to you all. Your support means everything to me.
“So thank you so much for getting behind this soundtrack and getting behind this movie. Thanks!”
Jackman didn’t specify in which region he was celebrating The Greatest Showman going platinum, seeing as the target changes in different countries relative to the population.
The album has reached such heights in both the UK and Australia, so presumably he was referring to the latter as a native Aussie.
Current figures indicate the soundtrack has sold over 70,000 copies in Australia and over 465,000 in the UK.
Meanwhile it’s gone Gold in the US at 500,000, which is impressive nonetheless as an artist has to sell over 1 million to go platinum in America.
However The Greatest Showman is set to lose its UK No 1 album reign this week.
Having matched Adele’s 21 record, the album looks ready be dethroned by George Ezra’s latest album.

George Ezra is set to dethrone The Greatest Showman as UK No 1 album this week
Four years since his debut Wanted On Voyage, Ezra’s second studio album Staying at Tamara’s will most likely take No 1 this week.
Nevertheless it’s been an incredibly impressive run for The Greatest Showman.
The film is released on digital download in the UK on April 27 and Blu-ray on May 14.
