BRITNEY SPEARS fans know that they can expect a high-octane show from the seasoned hitmaker - but so rarely do they expect live vocals.
Britney Spears stops mid-show to sing Happy Birthday
However, the US star proved she still has a surprisingly tuneful voice as she sang Happy Birthday while performing in Singapore this week.
Spears, 35, wanted to wish manny happy returns to her long-standing bodyguard Jacob, and did so with a cake and a sing-song.
Fans immediately took to social media in shock.
“SLAYYYYY THESE VOCALS OMGGGGGGGGGG #BritneyLiveInConcert,” one said.

“I JUST WITNESSED BRITNEY SPEARS SINGING LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS IN SINGAPORE #BritneyLiveInConcert,” said another.
A third person - also familiar with caps-lock - beamed: “I CAN NOT BREATHE!!!!!! NEVER COME FOR BRITNEY’S SINGING VOICE EVER AGAIN. I AM DEAD.”
Spears is currently playing a handful of shows in Asia, on a break from her Las Vegas Piece of Me Residency.
She has one more date left of the jaunt: in Tel Aviv on Monday, July 3.
She'll then return to Las Vegas
Spears underwent something of an artistic resurgence with the release of her ninth studio album, Glory; which achieved strong reviews across the board.
It also gave her her joint-best UK chart position to date as it debuted at No2, albeit on fewer than 10,000 copies sold.
Her Piece of Me show will wrap up on December 31 after four years.
