Glastonbury 2017: Barry Gibb ‘covers’ joke sparks chaos online
BARRY GIBB has won unanimous praise for his set at Glastonbury 2017 - but one joke online went over the heads of an unexpectedly large number of people.
A Glastonbury Festival joke about Barry Gibb went over the heads of many
Rachel Burns quipped during his performance: “Shame Barry Gibb hasn't got more of his own material.
“First he covered Take That, then Boyzone, now Steps. #Glastonbury2017.”
She was of course referring to the songs How Deep Is Your Love, Words and Tragedy, which the 90s pop acts then covered.
Whilst the joke went viral with thousands of retweets, a surprising number of people thought Burns was being serious - and chaos ensued.
The original gag got thousands of interactions
Many people didn't quite grasp it
The replies have left many in hysterics
Whilst many people pointed out that the songs were originally Gibb's, many others engaged in long conversations with Burns before the penny finally dropped.
One person even accused her of only claiming it was a joke to avoid embarrassment, saying: “I actually think you don’t know and now your [sic] twisting the tweet.”
Now a number of celebrities have joined in on the fun.
Dara Ó Briain said: “This is a great, silly joke, further elevated to brilliance by the replies. And the replies to the replies.”
Someone even thought she was lying about it being a joke
Rachel's replies were often as entertaining as the original clapbacks

When Gary Lineker called the whole thing “Brilliant”, Burns reacted: “It’s getting silly now…”
Gibb himself has not reacted on his own Twitter feed.
His set at Glastonbury also included tracks such as Stayin’ Alive, Night Fever, Islands In The Stream and Jive Talkin’.
