DAME Shirley Bassey has given one of her glittering James Bond dresses to help a youngster become a star.

The singer donned the sparking gown she wore to the latest Spectre 007 red carpet premiere on a trip back to her home city.
And Shirley - who sang 007 theme Goldfinger and Diamonds are Forever - gave the gold £10,000 Jenny Packham creation to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff to raise funds.
Dame Shirley, 79, attended a concert to donate her dress to raise further funds for a scholarship fund to find a star for the future.

She said: "I started off with nobody supporting me - there was nothing when I started, there were no schools or college for me.
"I made it, and I wanted to give that back to my hometown, where I came from in the docks of Cardiff."
The concert in her honour included Goldfinger and Big Spender performed by the college's Big Band.

She set up the Dame Shirley Bassey Scholarship Fund - awarded every year to an outstanding Welsh singer to help further their musical development.
A previous winner was Trystan Llyr Griffiths who is now studying music in Opernhaus Zurich in Switzerland.
Trystan, 24, said: "I am truly grateful that I received the Shirley Bassey scholarship. I wouldn't have been able to study without it."
