VAN MORRISON: Astral Weeks (Warner)
I listened to this a lot when I was having my children in the 1990s. There are so many good tracks from Cyprus Avenue to Madame George and Sweet Thing. I love that 1970s sound, it doesn’t date. Lovely, easy listening.
KATE BUSH: Hounds Of Love (Fish People/EMI)
She was so creative and I loved that she didn’t sound like anybody else. I was in my teens and I remember her dramatic way of performing. My son loves her now too.
FLEETWOOD MAC: Rumours (Warner)
When I was 14, everybody was listening to this. We never knew at the time that they were fighting with each other but every track was brilliant.
B-52’s: Wild Planet (Island)
The visual package was important and they had so much style. I was at university at the time and this was a happy one for dancing.
SUFJAN STEVENS: Carrie & Lowell (Asthmatic Kitty)
He reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel. It’s mellow indie folk for background music at home.
JULIA HOLTER: Have You In My Wilderness (Domino)
Soft, dreamy electronic sounds that soothe and mesmerise. My son introduced me to her music.
