CD Review: Biffy Clyro: Opposites
AS a double concept album, Opposites represents a bold declaration of intent from the Scottish rockers
The first record, wearyingly, explores the perils of success; the second takes a more positive look to the future. Unfortunately over the course of 20 tracks, this adds up to an Emo overdose.
There’s no doubting the sincerity of Biffy Clyro’s angst and nor is there anything complacent about their sound, as they’re brave enough to take the listener by surprise.
Somehow, though, the record never amounts to more than the sum of its parts
