Album review - The Debut Album Plus: Joan Baez (Chrome Dreams)
Folk legend Joan Baez has a distinctive voice that you either love or works your last nerve (the very high area she goes to can grate).
This is a re-release of her 1960 debut. It stands up half a century later.
The songs are simple and charming with just a guitar to back her.
For dyed-in-the-wool fans there are tracks from a previous collaboration album, Folksingers ’Round Harvard Square, with solos and duets never heard except on vinyl since 1959.
Verdict: 4/5
