Green Day tour POSTPONED due to Coronavirus outbreak: 'We know it sucks'
GREEN DAY postponed Asian tour dates due to fears about the Coronavirus outbreak, announcing the news on Twitter.

Green Day told their 5 million Twitter followers they would reschedule next month’s shows in Asia as they confirmed they would be cancelling upcoming appearing amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. “We have unfortunately made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming shows in Asia due to the health + travel concerns with coronavirus,” the band said last night.
“We know it sucks, as we were looking forward to seeing you all, but hold on to your tickets we’ll be announcing the new dates very soon,” Green Day assured fans.
The band were due to play in Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Taipei, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan in March.
As it stands, Green Day’s summer Hella Mega Tour of Europe is unaffected by the Coronavirus fears.
They will kick off the European leg in Russia on May 24 and play gigs across Scandinavia, Germany, France and the UK, among others.

The band are currently scheduled to perform at two concerts in Italy, where over 650 cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed so far.
Green Day are the latest musical act to cancel or postpone appearances in Asia as concerns continue to grow about the outbreak of the new Coronavirus.
Yesterday BTS also cancelled a series of shows in their hometown of Seoul, South Korea.
They were set to open their Map of the Soul tour there but cancelled the concerts following the Coronavirus outbreak.

South Korea announced 315 new Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.
British rapper and singer Stormzy postponed the entire Asian leg of his Heavy Is The Head Tour earlier this month, telling his 3 million Twitter followers: “Due to the ongoing health and travel concerns surrounding the Coronavirus, I’m regrettably having to reschedule this leg of the Tour.”
He told fans information regarding the reschedules dates would follow.
The grime artist had been due to perform in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, China, Indonesia and South Korea.

The Pixies previously cancelled three shows in China and Japan in February and March.
Among others who have pulled out of concerts in Asia are Kenny G, 98 Degrees and Spandau Ballet’s Tony Hadley.
The Asian press tour for the upcoming James Bond film No Time To Die was cancelled as well.
Fears are mounting the virus outbreak will have a significant economic impact.
Markets have already been hit as the Coronavirus continues to spread around the world.
Stock markets in Britain fell by over three per cent this morning.
The World Health Organisation has warned the disease has the potential to become a pandemic.
The total number of cases in the UK is 15.
