Queen perform with Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders
Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert are currently on their Rhapsody Tour of North America. And two nights ago they performed in Dallas, Texas where Queen and Adam Lambert surprised fans with some special guests. As the singer started belting out Freddie Mercury’s Fat Bottomed Girls, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders joined the stage complete with pom-poms. Brian May wrote on Instagram: “Yeeeay ! At last ! Javier got much better footage of the Lovely Ladies from Dallas last night than anything I’ve seen. So I’m stealing this from Adam’s story ! Enjoy ! Bri.”
Last night, Queen and Adam Lambert performed in Houston and will now be flying to Detroit, Michigan on July 27.
Writing on his Instagram, the Queen guitarist wrote: “I have to say that being called a ‘tribute band’ by some half-a**ed critic in the local paper is an insult I will not quickly forget.
“We don’t need your condescension, Sonny Jim. That’s my life’s work you’re dismissing there.”
He added: “I guess you’re the only one who didn’t really ’get it’ in that wonderful rockin’ crowd tonight in the good ol’ SAP Center. I can still hear your roar, folks, ringing in my ears.”
While in a previous post, May asserted that Adam Lambert was the reason Queen was still alive.
May wrote: “And here is the Modern Marvel without whom, for sure, Queen would not be out here delivering at the top level.”
“ADAM LAMBERT is only now beginning to be recognised by the greater public as the true phenomenon that he is.”
He continued: “Gifted with a voice in a billion, for himself he is a passionate and unyielding perfectionist.
“Gifted to us, he is the reason that we are still alive as a functioning rock band.
“And still able to take on new challenges. Plus ... he’s nice. That’s a big deal when you’re a touring family.
“Freddie would approve, big time.”
