Fortnite servers will be switched off this morning, with matchmaking temporarily disabled and waiting in queue errors likely.
Epic Games have taken Fortnite offline so the team can release the new 4.5 update. P
Fortnite's next big update 5.40 is scheduled to arrive later this morning.
Epic Games is rolling out the essentially new patch so they can make a number of key changes to the game ahead ot the High Stakes LTM release.
Epic Games announced the downtime earlier this week, saying: "Suit up and get ready for High Stakes with patch v5.40!
"Downtime starts tomorrow, September 6 at 4 AM ET (0800 GMT)."
Fortnite went down from 9am BST in the UK - but it is not clear when the servers will go back online as yet.
How long will Fortnite be down for?
Epic Games has not given any details about how long the downtime will last today.
Players are normally booted off the game 20 minutes before downtime begins and last for a couple of hours.
Fortnite downtime will affect players on all platforms - including PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac and Mobile.
Based on the previous downtime, Express.co.uk estimates the game will be back online by roughly 11 to 12pm BST.

Epic will no doubt drop some new patch notes just before or during the downtime.

Earlier this week, Epic Games told fans: “Due to the discovery of a critical controller issue, we’ll be moving the release of v5.40 and High Stakes to Thursday, September 6.
“This also means that Challenge unlocks will be pushed back a day from Thursday 9/6 to Friday 9/7.”
