UPDATE: Fortnite developer Epic Games is teasing a big surprise for Battle Royale.
Hinting at alien activity to come, in-game TV stations appear to be experiencing technical difficulties.
Even more interesting is that the television sets are said to be broadcasting morse code, which has been deciphered by TwoEpicBuddies.
"So Epic Games added sound files for the TV in Battle Royale," reads a TwoEpicBuddies tweet. "One of those is a morse code and contains the message 'They don't want us to k...'"The plot thickens.ORIGINAL: The Fortnite Tilted Towers meteor strike appears to be linked to a new game mode.
Dataminers have made some interesting discoveries after searching through the latest update files.
According to sound files discovered by TwoEpicBuddies, the meteors will hit parts of the map and vehicles. Furthermore, it looks like players will be able to open them to find loot.
Other fans are convinced that aliens are inbound, after UFO shapes were spotted in the sky.
Likewise, a new rooftop area in Tilted Towers features a variety of meteor related signs, as well as one placard in which a UFO is surrounded by a heart.
One sign even suggests that something will take place later today, although this could just be Epic having some fun with the community.
The Tilted Towers rumours began after players spotted a comet floating in the skies.
This led to speculation that Epic Games was going to level the region in a bid to balance the game.
One popular theory is that the comet will strike Tilted Towers at the end of season 3 on April 30.
This is based on a morse code message linked to newly discovered controller rumblings.
Ok found some sound files regarding the meteor (btw. they sound amazing O.O). Seems like they hit the map/cars (thus the playlist name carmine). You can open them like supply drops to gather some loot! pic.twitter.com/6CK1uusWBc

According to one Reddit user, the rumblings translate to "SOS D 5 418".
Tilted Towers is located at D5 on the map, while 418 could be a reference to April 2018. The SOS, meanwhile, is pretty self-explanatory.
Other fans believed that Tilted Towers would be destroyed on April 18.
When this didn't happen, Fortnite fans organised a special farewell event of their own.
