Pokemon Go UPDATE: Grass Event end time, as fans criticise Niantic Worldwide Bloom event
POKEMON Go's Worldwide Bloom grass event comes to an end later today, although many fans won't really notice any difference.
Pokemon Go Grass event ends later today
Pokemon Go Worldwide Bloom Grass event ends later today, so you'd better hurry up if you want to reap the rewards.
The Grass Event runs until the evening of May 8, which means UK fans can expect it to last until around 8pm.
Grass-type Pokemon include Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, and Exeggutor from Gen 1, as well as Chikorita, Bayleef and Bellossom from Gen 2.
Other Grass event bonuses include the extension of Lure modules, although even this caused problems when the event began.
Niantic told Twitter followers: "To help you catch your favourite Grass-type Pokemon this weekend, Lure Modules will last for six hours for the entire weekend!"
Fans are also being encouraged to document findings using the Pokemon GO AR camera, before sharing findings on social media using the #PokemonGO.
You can see the full list of Gen 1 and Gen 2 grass-type Pokemon below. How many have you encountered during the Pokemon Go Worldwide Bloom Grass Event?
But Pokemon Go's Worldwide Bloom Grass Event isn't going down well with everyone.
Some players aren't seeing much of an increase in grass-type Pokemon, especially in built-up urban areas.
One fan told Twitter followers: "This grass event is pretty bad. 1. Barely no grass types for me. 2. Only lasts for 2 days!!!"
This was echoed by another player, who writes: "On my hour long walk, I saw one solitary grass type: Paras. No thank you."
And another Twitter user said: "This grass event on #PokemonGo is c**p. There are no grass types about!"
It's in stark contrast to the Water Festival and Valentine's Event, where the number of water and pink Pokemon were noticeably higher.
Niantic tease MAJOR expansion of Pokemon GO
Fans have also been left disappointed by the news that no new Shiny Pokemon have been discovered.
So far, no new shiny Pokemon Go special have been found in the wild and with so many people playing, it seems unlikely that not a single report would have made it onto the internet.
Trainers were hoping that Bulbasaur would be the Pocket Monster of choice.
Predicting a repeat of the Water Festival, players were expecting the Gen 1 starter to be the chosen Pokemon, having been featured on the official Niantic Worldwide Bloom post - much like Magikarp was for the Water Festival.
There is still time for a Shiny to appear, but it seems unlikely.
