PS4 update TONIGHT: Sony put gamers on standby with big announcement
SONY have announced that a new update for the PlayStation 4 will be hitting consoles tonight.

The popular platform last saw a major system software update in late September 2015, which added a ton of fresh features as well as providing an extra 10GB of online storage for PS Plus members.
But tonight's update is just a minor one, with PlayStation tweeting: "PS4 system software 3.15 is coming tonight – it's a minor update designed to improve system performance."

The update shouldn't take too long to download, but most gamers will still be wondering when the next major update is coming out.
Xbox One is receiving one in February, so eyes will now be on Sony to announce their own for the PS4.

Whether or not this will address recent PSN problems remains to be seen after it went down again this week following last week's major outage.
PSN has a poor track record of going offline in recent times, and PS4 owners will be keen to see this problem sorted for good in the near future.
