PS Plus July 2026 games - Rise of Ronin is favourite but could Marathon make appearance?
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be pleased to hear that the new games are just days away from being revealed.

UPDATE: It looks like some of the predictions were correct, as a Call of Duty game is announced for PlayStation Plus in July.
The PS Plus line-up will be headlined by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which is available for both PS4 and PS5.
Subscribers will also be able to download tactical role-playing game For the King II, as well as action-RPG CrossCode.
ORIGINAL: PlayStation Plus subscribers are counting down to the reveal of the free PS5 games for July 2026. Because of the way the dates fall, the next batch of PS Plus games won't actually be revealed until July 1, before releasing the following week, specifically on the morning of July 7.
With the official reveal just days away from taking place, PS Plus subscribers are attempting to predict the line-up ahead of schedule. If you're a regular in the PS Plus predictions thread, then it won't come as much of a surprise to discover that action game Rise of the Ronin is the overwhelming favourite, with dozens of fans convinced that it will be added to the Essentials line-up in July.
Rise of the Ronin is an entertaining enough action game by the makers of Nioh and Ninja Gaiden. It's not as good as the aforementioned games, but it is worth playing, especially if it comes to PS Plus.
Sony explains more: "Japan, 1863. After three centuries of the Tokugawa Shogunate’s reign, the Black Ships of the West descend upon the nation’s borders and the country falls into a state of turmoil.
"Amidst the chaos of war, disease and political unrest, a nameless warrior forges their own path, holding the very fate of Japan in their hands."
While Rise of the Ronin is the overwhelming favourite, rougelike action game Hades isn't too far behind. Giving Hades away for free on PS Plus would potentially create a whole new set of fans, which could drive interest in the sequel.
NBA 2K26 is the third most picked game in the monthly predictions thread on Reddit, which makes sense given the basketball season has just come to an end.
Other games with plenty of picks include the usual suspects of Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, Atomic Heart and Dying Light 2.
There are also countless picks for Call of Duty games, most notably Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 2. I actually wouldn't be too surprised if Black Ops 7 was added.
Needless to say, there are also a few picks for a Resident Evil game, as well as any number of titles from the Final Fantasy series, not to mention various Sonic the Hedgehog releases.
Stellar Blade continues to get more votes, while first-party games like Astro Bot and Gran Turismo 7 remain popular.
Interestingly, there's a growing section of the fanbase that believes Mafia: The Old Country could be added to PS Plus, as well as Bungie's extraction shooter Marathon.
While Marathon would be something of a surprise, adding it to PS Plus would certainly boost the player count, and could give it the shot in the arm it needs.
It may not happen in July, but don't be shocked if it joins PlayStation Plus sooner rather than later.
