Despite reports of underwhelming sales, the PlayStation VR 2 virtual reality headset is a phenomenal piece of kit. Sony's follow-up to the original PSVR is much more powerful than its predecessor, far easier to use and has a superior control scheme. Games like Horizon Call of the Mountain and Gran Turismo 7 really showcase the graphical power of the machine, which runs at 120 frames-per-second and supports 4K visuals with HDR technology. Perhaps the biggest drawback has always been the price, which at £529.99 is a big investment, especially when you factor in the cost of the PS5 needed to run it. Fortunately, however, UK retailer Argos is selling the PSVR 2 headset at a massively discounted price. As part of the white hot deal, Argos has slashed the price of the PSVR 2 from £529.99 to just £349.99. That's an incredible saving of £180. The PSVR 2 headset comes with two Sense controllers, complete with adaptive triggers, haptics and even finger touch detection. It's also about to become compatible with Steam VR.

This seriously fantastic deal is selling like hot cakes. Indeed, the Argos website is currently listing the item as in-demand and a hot seller, which means it's selling fast.

There's arguably never been a better time to pick up a PSVR 2 headset. Not only is this the lowest price we've seen so far, but Sony recently announced plans to make the PlayStation VR 2 compatible with virtual reality games on PC.

All you'll need is the upcoming PlayStation VR2 PC adaptor, which will be available for £49.99 this August.

The PlayStation VR2 PC adapter will make it possible to play Steam VR titles using your PlayStation VR headset.

This includes the superb Half-Life: Alyx, as well as blockbusters like Fallout 4 VR, War Thunder and the hugely entertaining Bonelab.

According to Sony, PSVR 2 owners will also need to purchase a separate "commercially available DisplayPort cable", specifically one that's compatible with DisplayPort 1.4.

Then there's the fact that you'll need a PC capable of running virtual reality games via Steam.

Once you do have all the items at your disposal, setting up is as simple as connecting your PlayStation VR2 to your PC using the PS VR2 PC adapter and the DisplayPort 1.4 cable.

You'll then be required to download the PlayStation VR2 App and the SteamVR App, which will enable you to set up your PlayStation VR device on your PC. This includes setting up your play area and purchasing games.

As Sony points out, performance may vary depending on your set-up and individual game requirements, so it's worth thoroughly researching before making a purchase.

It's also worth noting that some PSVR 2 exclusive features won't work with Steam VR games, such as headset feedback, eye tracking and adaptive triggers.
