Overwatch Winter 2018 event: Wonderland start time, release date, NEW Christmas skins
OVERWATCH fans are getting ready for the 2018 Winter Wonderland Christmas event, which features new skins for the likes of Bastion, Mercy, Widowmaker, Lucio, Junkrat, Symmetra and Zarya.
The Overwatch Winter Wonderland event is about to return for 2018.
Fans are counting down to the start of the annual Christmas event, which has a December 11 release date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
If it's anything like previous Overwatch events, Winter Wonderland will have a 6pm GMT start time in the UK.
Running for three weeks, the event gives fans the chance to unlock special festive skins, items and more.
And as we draw closer to the big event, Blizzard has started to unveil some of the new skins on offer.
It all began with a look at a new Legendary snowboarder skin for Zarya, which is described as "Pawsitively fursome".
Next up is Arctic Fox Lucio, which will also be available during the month of December. Then there's Biathlon Widowmaker, which can be seen below.
Blizzard would follow this up with a look at Gift Wrap Bastion and Sugar Plum Mercy (above).
Fans of Symmetra will also be pleased to see the new Legendary skin coming soon.
"Put your enemies on ice," reads a Blizzard tweet. "Rise up the rinks as FIGURE SKATER SYMMETRA (Legendary)! Overwatch Winter Wonderland begins Dec 11."
Saving the best until last, Blizzard also unveiled the Legendary Krampus skin.
You can take a look at the Junkrat and Symmetra skin in the image below.
The Overwatch Winter Wonderland also marks the return of one or two limited time modes.
Mei’s Snowball Offensive is a 6v6 single elimination affair in which players fire snowballs at each other.
Then there's the Yeti Hunter mode, which pits five characters against one in asymetric multiplayer battles.
"The Yeti must gather meat to unlock a powerful rage ability adding immunity to freeze and more powerful bonuses," Blizzard explains.
Overwatch: Winter Wonderland theme RETURNS
"The Meis try to find and eliminate their woolly opponent before he’s consumed enough meat.
"The Mei players have a new tool in their arsenal, though—a modified “Yeti trap” ultimate ability. Which team will emerge from the snow?"
Fans can also use the event to grab any skins they may have missed from past Winter Wonderland events.
These skins are available through loot boxes, but can also be purchased for a slightly cheaper price than normal.
