Fortnite season 7 is soon to be upon us, introducing yet another theme to the online battle royale. Players have been speculating for some time as to what the next season will bring, as they are often unpredictable and dramatic. A distant looming snowstorm off the main map has captured gamers’ attentions, suggesting a winter theme for the next season. Epic Games has now confirmed this, releasing an icy clue as to what to expect from the next season.
When does the next Battle Pass season start?
The next battle pass season will begin with season 7 later this week, recently announced by Fortnite developers Epic Games.
Taking to Twitter, the developers teased the next season with a poster showing a sinister looking hooded character with a jagged crown, which also appeared to represent an icy cave.
With the poster, the account simply said: “A bitter ice spreads... 3 days to Season 7.”
The battle pass can be purchased each month which allows players to purchase the main features which come with the next month’s update.
Battle passes are a game-changer for Fortnite, opening up more content for fans each month.
Among features are extra costumes, more challenges and more XP.
As such, the pass is purchased at a premium, and in game will cost 950 V-Bucks.
To buy 1000 V-bucks and buy the battle pass for season 7, Fortnite fans will be set back £8.
If you can’t afford this, you can earn them by completing in-game activities, but this will ultimately take much longer.
For season 6, the battle pass offered three main unlocks.
These included Two outfits (DJ Yonder and Calamity), a combo match XP boost and access to more Challenges.
When will season 7 be live?
Fortnite’s in-game counter is showing the season 6 end-date as this Wednesday, with season 7 set to drop on Thursday.
Normally, the servers will go down before the main event for a few hours, which last time came around 9am.
People will start to lose connection and be kicked out of any active games by about 8.40am.
The game and season 7 should come about three hours later, with players able to download the new configuration and battle pass owners able to claim their rewards.
