Fortnite Tomato Temple: Tomato Town GONE in huge map update, Tomatohead challenges added
FORTNITE fans have seen a major map update today with Tomato Town replaced with the brand new Tomato Temple location.
Fortnite release BRAND NEW item 'Rift-To-Go'
Fortnite has just got a big map update with the Tomato Town point of interest replaced with the new Tomato Temple hotspot.
The Fortnite map update came after the release of the 5.30 patch which also brought with it the Rift-To-Go item and Score Royale LTM.
The addition of Tomato Temple is the biggest Fortnite map change since the start of season 5.
Tomato Temple can be found in the same spot as Tomato Town, but the new point of interest is a much larger locale.
The new location in Fortnite features more vegetation than before and also has an underground section similar to those found in Shifty Sands.
The addition of Tomato Temple has also seen the giant Tomatohead, which disappeared at the end of Fortnite season 4, make a triumphant return.
However, the location it has now been placed is a bit more intimidating.
Previously the Tomatohead sculpture could be found before it disappeared on top of a restaurant in Tomato Town.
Now, instead in Fortnite the Tomatohead sculpture is being housed on top of a giant Aztec pyramid in Tomato Temple.
The newly added pyramid also features sacrificial fires as well as tribal paint.
To mark the addition of Tomato Temple, the Tomatohead outfit has returned to the Fortnite store.
Once bought players can now try to complete the newly added Tomatohead challenges.
These challenges can be found under the regular challenges tab in Battle Royale after you have purchased the Tomatohead skin.
Once you complete these three challenges you will be rewarded with the Tomatohead crown.
Here are the Tomatohead challenges:
• Play matches (25)
• Deal damage to opponents (5,000)
• Gain 20,000 XP (20,000)
The addition of Tomato Temple comes after last weekend a small, stone Tomatohead appeared from the rift above Tomato Town.
These stone Tomatoheads can now be found around the Tomato Temple location.
The distinct Mayan or Aztec style of Tomato Temple could provide hints for what’s to come in Fortnite season 6.
Ahead of Fortnite season 5 kicking off, rumours were rife that Epic Games had planned for the Battle Royale map to go back in time.
It had been rumoured that a Wild West location as well as an Ancient Egyptian setting would be added to the map.
And while time travel has played a big part in season 5, thanks to the ‘Worlds Collide’ theme, many locations in Fortnite remain unchanged.
Could it be possible that Epic Games aren’t done with the time travel theme yet, and have something even bigger planned for Fortnite season 6?
Could the whole map be getting an overhaul, with each point of interest going back to a bygone era?
Maybe the Enforcer, who was today revealed as the Road Trip skin, will play a part in this?
Time will tell but it looks like Epic Games are laying down the foundations and mystery about what’s to come in Fortnite season 6 in a few weeks.
