Wacky black comedy Horns is a stretch too far for Daniel Radcliffe
YOU have to admire the way that Daniel Radcliffe has thrown himself into a busy post-Harry Potter career that now stretches from gothic spine-tingler to romantic comedy.

Horns is a very wacky, oil and water mixture of coarse black comedy and gory supernatural thriller.
Everyone in his small-town community believes that Ig (Radcliffe) is getting away with the murder of his girlfriend Merrin (Juno Temple).

All the evidence points to his guilt. He is also growing a splendid set of horns from his forehead and people have started telling him the truth and nothing but the truth about their deepest, darkest instincts.
Has he fallen from grace? Is he the devil in disguise? Endless flashbacks provide the details of the great Ig-Merrin romance and help us get closer to what really happened but that’s before the venomous snakes slither everywhere and it gets really weird.
A very strange film in which hints of Joe Orton comedy clash with bursts of special-effects and none of it makes a great deal of sense. We all understand that Radcliffe wants to try different things but there are limits.
