In exciting news for war film fans, Factual America have jumped across the pond and released a Top 15 ranking of the best British war documentaries.
In their own words, the podcast that frequently features Oscar and Emmy award-winning documentary filmmakers, "examines America through the lens of documentary filmmaking. War is a major part of any country's history, and the UK is no exception."
15. Commando: On the Front Line (2007)
This ITV mini-series made by Chris Terrill follows the transformation of Royal Marines as they are taken on a gruelling 10 weeks of military training, highlighting the physical and mental discipline required to be a Commando on the front line.

14. PARA Platoon (2014)
A BBC Three production that allows the viewer to see a Parachute Regiment train for deployment in Afghanistan. The focus is not only on the physical realities but the emotional toll on the soldiers and their families.
13. Behind the Lines (1985)
Brought to you by the acclaimed filmmaker Jeremy Isaacs, this documentary explores the soldiers of World War II, but focuses on the Forgotten Army of Burma Campaign, highlighting the sacrifices made and honouring those involved.
