CAPTAIN MARVEL will be a very different type of origin story, according to Marvel boss Kevin Feige.
Captain Marvel: Brie Larson reveals she found Carol 'inspiring'
Before Avengers 4 hits cinemas next April, MCU fans have Captain Marvel to look forward to.
A prequel to the epic, the film is set in the 1990s and, according to Kevin Feige, will be quite different from what might be expected.
Speaking with Variety, he said: “It takes place in the 1990s and while it is an origin story of our hero, it is a very different type of origin story which we’re excited to unveil to audiences.
“Brie Larson does a tremendous job. Sam Jackson is a very different version of Nick Fury, does an amazing job, the entire cast — this one is very different and very exciting.”

During the same interview, Feige was asked if Deadpool survived Thanos’ Snap.
He said: “That's a good question. Nobody's asked me that question.
“I mean, technically speaking, he was not in the MCU.
“He was not in that cinematic universe, so he was not affected, probably.”
When asked if he would want Deadpool to come over and join the MCU, Feige was quite cryptic.
The producer added: “The merger’s not done. What I will say is, for years and years the dream has been to have access to as many of our characters back, so we could tell those stories at Marvel Studios.
“If and when that happens I’ll be very excited. We have ideas just going back from 18 years, but nothing specific.”
Captain Marvel will be released in UK cinemas on March 8, 2019.
