Man Booker International Prize 2017: Longlist announced for annual award
THE MAN BOOKER PRIZE has revealed the longlist for its specific International award for 2017.
One of these writers could win the Man Booker International Prize 2017
The list of 13 titles were all translated to English and published in the UK, and are the chosen few out of a total of 126 that were considered.
Both novels and short-story collections are eligible, and the £50,000 final prize money will be divided between both the author and the translator.
The shortlist of six will be unveiled on April 20, before the 2017 winner is announced on June 14 at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

US author Paul Beatty wins Man Booker Prize
The Man Booker International Prize was first introduced in 2004 to complement the Man Booker Prize, and was reconfigured in 2016 to be given annually rather than every two years.
Last year’s winner was The Vegetarian by Han Kang, translated by Deborah Smith from Korean.
Other previous winners include Ismail Kadare - who is longlisted again in 2017 - Chinua Achebeand Philip Roth.
