Review: Beautiful For Ever by Helen Rappaport
THIS is the scandalous true story of Madame Rachel, an enterprising woman who lured the rich and famous of Victorian London to her Mayfair beauty salon with the promise of eternal beauty.
Her skin products were often damaging yet she claimed to be much older to emphasise their quality and her New Bond Street premises became a stage for love affairs, fraud and treachery, which makes for a wickedly dramatic read.
Verdict: 4/5
