The Lovely Bones: DVD review and trailer
PETER Jackson's The Lovely Bones is a disjointed adaptation of the best-selling novel by Alice Sebold about the rape and murder of 14-year-old Susie Salmon.
From the afterlife, Susie recounts her family's story after the crime and how the killer is found.
It's a difficult book to adapt and while Jackson and the admirable cast (including Saoirse Ronan, Stanley Tucci, Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz) try to make the best of things, it's a book that works better on the page than on screen.
VERDICT 3/5
