Seven Pounds
WILL Smith’s charismatic performance lends some stature to this intriguing but fatally contrived tearjerker.
Smith plays a man haunted by grief and motivated by guilt.
He works for the IRS and spends his days in some kind of self-inflicted penance, selecting seven strangers who will all benefit from his selfless act of compassion.
The explanation for his actions is the basis of a lush, maudlin melodrama.
