Jenny Eclair: Why I was cut Loose
COMEDIENNE Jenny Eclair has revealed the reason behind being axed from hit show Loose Women after just one series was her being "a square peg in a round hole".
Jenny, 52, who made her debut in the last series of the ITV show, has not had her contract renewed for this autumn.
She says: "I wasn't at all surprised when they let me go. I was a square peg in a round hole. I've never been a team player. I mean, I was friendly to everyone but I only went in one day a week."
Jenny admits she did not socialise with her co-stars, including Carol McGiffin, Andrea McLean and Denise Welch.
"I don't know if I was meant to go out drinking all the time but that's not me. I don't go out a lot," she says, adding that she didn't have gossip to bring to the table.
"To be honest, my personal life is a bit dull! My work gives me the drama I need."

Of her colleagues, Jenny, who has a 22-year-old daughter with partner Geoff Powell, remarks: "I didn't understand some of the views, I didn't agree with a lot of the opinions and thought some were very weird."
However, she denied she only had one pal on the show: "It's not true I only got on with Janet [Street-Porter].
"I enjoyed doing the show. I loved the runners, the people who did my clothes and I will keep in touch with some of the girls. I'll be happy to see the others in passing."
