Second bite at the apple for Sian Williams
BBC presenter Sian Williams is bravely to make a second attempt to run the New York marathon a decade since she was hospitalised after running the Big Apple race.
Sian, 47, who has been part of the BBC’s Olympics coverage, reveals: “I’m training for the New York marathon in November. I ran it in 2001 but I was in hospital for a couple of days afterwards because I drank too much water.”
Meanwhile, she confesses that she no longer wears a treasured family possession following a recent accident.
“I have an opal ring that was my mother’s. The stone fell out on the floor, I stepped back and heard a soft crunch underfoot. The opal had disintegrated. I was so upset. My husband took it to a jeweller and got a similar opal fitted. I don’t wear it now.”
We’re hardly surprised!
