Ben Fogle: My crush on the Lord Bath of Longleat
NOT just women fall for the charms of Lord Bath of Longleat for Ben Fogle has declared his admiration for the beardy lothario.
Alexander Thynn, 78, the seventh Marquess of Bath, has been nicknamed the Loins of Longleat due to his polyamorous lifestyle.
Wildlife presenter Ben, 36, worked at the Longleat estate for seven years on BBC’s Animal Park and has fond memories of him.
“I think he’s the last of the true English eccentrics,” he says. “He’s got Karma Sutra rooms and paintings he did himself of every single wifelet and girlfriend he’s ever had, going all up the staircase… there’s hundreds of them and he says it’s a much more flattering way of remembering a lover than putting a notch on a bedpost.
“I think that sums him up very well. It’s all part of who he is. I like the way he’s very honest and open about it and I think that’s the way he’s able to get away with his lifestyle.”
