Peter still game for a challenge
AFTER being replaced as Chief Scout by whippersnapper Bear Grylls, Blue Peter legend Peter Duncan is more keen than ever to prove his action-adventure credentials, it seems.
The outgoing Duncan, 55, is making his well-received Edinburgh Festival debut with an autobiographical show Daft And Dangerous, which features singing, dancing, tightrope walking and even Tarzan-style rope swinging.
And he insists it’s as energetic as anything his ex-SAS successor Bear, 34, could put on.
“I can still give him a good run for his money,” laughed the presenter over a drink after his performance.
“But there are no hard feelings. It’s good the position hasn’t gone to an old fart. I mean, Bear’s a madman but he’s edgier than me and I can see how that’s important to get kids interested.” Is that on Scout’s honour, Peter?
