Would a Labour government be bad for Britain?
TONY Blair delivered a stark warning to Labour leader Ed Miliband yesterday about the electoral dangers of turning the party back into a Left-wing protest movement.
In a damning assessment of his successor’s failings the former Prime Minister said the party was at risk of re-establishing the dividing lines of the 1980s.
Then Left-wing Labour championed the status quo and languished in opposition to Margaret Thatcher’s Tories.
The intervention – Mr Blair’s most significant on the domestic stage since leaving office nearly six years ago – sparked an extraordinary retort from Labour, insisting it was time to move on from the mistakes he had made when in power.
Mr Miliband’s office issued a blistering response, insisting time has moved on since Blair left No 10 in 2007.
