Britain’s national security owes nothing to Brussels
THE Government’s Project Fear grinds on as the referendum campaign moves into a higher gear.
Terror attacks in Paris and Brussels show how vulnerable the EU is
As the phrase suggests, this propaganda by the Remain campaign is entirely negative.
And many will think of the wise words of US president Franklin D Roosevelt: “Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is… fear itself… nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror.”
Today David Cameron makes a speech claiming that the UK’s ties with Brussels are essential to protect national security.
Yesterday – conveniently – former heads of MI5 and MI6 Baron Evans of Weardale and Sir John Sawers supported the pro-EU lobby claiming that leaving the EU would pose a risk for Britain.
With all due respect their arguments and those of the Prime Minister are weak.
The EU’s commitment to open borders has damaged our national security
The EU’s commitment to open borders and mass immigration has damaged our national security as have European laws which stop us dealing with terrorists as we would wish.
Our association with Nato, the UN Security Council and the US is the real key to Britain’s security.
In Europe, terror attacks in Paris and Brussels show how vulnerable the EU is.
The Prime Minister will today attempt to couch his appeal in patriotic terms saying: “I want to show you that if you love this country, if you want to keep it strong in the world and keep our people safe our membership of the EU is one of the tools.” This is absurd.
The purpose of the EU is to move away from notions of sovereignty and patriotism in favour of the European superstate.
How can Mr Cameron talk of loyalty and nationalism when this is the reality?

Time and again the small benefits allowed to senior citizens are under threat
Don’t end free TV licence
MANY of the over-75s could lose their free TV licence under plans being considered by Lord Hall, the BBC director general which would save the corporation £100million a year.
The perk would no longer be forthcoming if someone in the household worked. This is mean-minded.
Television is a boon and a pleasure for many older people and a much-needed form of companionship.
Time and again the small benefits allowed to senior citizens are withdrawn or are under threat. These individuals are easily identifiable and therefore easy to target.
Why not make more of an effort to claw back the handouts given to freeloaders and skivers?
